2022.01.18 19:11 godhatesstalkers Just wanted to say hi (introduction)

I am 35 and was not diagnosed with autism until age 33.
Why so long? When I was growing up my family owned a ski resort. So naturally kids gravitated towards me for the benefits... regardless of my quirks. It wasn't until high school that I really began noticing that I was different. I didn't really make any new friends... just the ones I knew from elementary. I began to notice I wasn't equipped with the same social skills as most people. I lacked the ability to turn thoughts into words from my mouth... to be fast and banter. I also never really understood why everybody was so ... well... fake is the best way I can describe it.
Years later I dated a girl who had a masters in child psychology. One day we were in an argument and I told her she had aspergers. Jokingly, trying to use her terminology against her. She stopped dead in her tracks... turned to look at me... her eyes piercing through my soul... and said. "No sweets... YOU HAVE ASPERGERS!" I will never forget that moment.
It wasn't til maybe 4 years after that... after multiple doctors and people asked me if I was on the spectrum. Finally, I decided to look into it and see what this "aspergers" was all about. I spent the next few hours watching "aspergers on the inside" and found myself in tears. This man was describing my life to a t. This explained so many things. Like why I hate hot food/coffee. (not spicy... temp hot) I can't take hot showers... It explained why I would rip my clothes off as a kid... and still prefer nudity to this day. I hate the feeling of certain fabrics on my skin. Things like why news paper felt painful to touch. Like nails on a chalkboard. It explained why I prefer "old people bars" instead of night clubs... they are just so distracting. It explained soooo so many things. stimming... echolalia... all of it.
At first I went through a period of severe depression... it was really bad. Despite having a diagnosis on paper... my family refuses to believe it. I always get that same bull@#$it "you look/seem normal to me" and I'm like yea... thats because autism is genetic. You likely have it to some degree too. People always talked about how "us boys were so similar" in our mannerisms and behavior.
Now that I know what it is... and the symptoms... I now understand why my grandfather was like a human calculator... why he constantly overstepped social boundaries. He would go to HomeDepot... and ask the staff guy helping us if he was "a real mexican"! He wasn't trying to be racist... he was completely ignorant and trying to make friendly conversation. He really didn't realize what he was saying was inappropriate.
This also explains why most of my family doesn't speak to each other... everybody is super controlling of their own environment. We all have weird quirks, rules, and rituals that none of the other family understand or respect.
I had so many emotions running through me... happy I could relate... sad that people are going to look at me as a ret4rd... mad that my teachers and other adults didn't catch it back when it mattered. Back when I was young enough to be "trained" better.
It's nice to finally understand what my strengths and weaknesses are... but at the same time... it sucks that I can't tell people. People always think of non-verbal autism. So when people ask me why I haven't gotten anywhere in life... like I am some kind of big failure... I can't tell them I'm autistic. They either don't believe me... or if i show them proof... their entire world view collapses and they treat me like I'm dumb / slow. All of a sudden they are afraid of me because they can no longer relate. I am "DIFFERENT"
Any way. Now I know it's ok that I hyper-focus on things i like... and that ultimately. That's what I need to try and base my career around.
I want to create a skillshare platform for autistic people. Not just any site tho... I want it to be a brothesisterhood. I want it to be built by aspies... for aspies.
The idea is. An autistic person joins the club/site with the understanding, that we are all here to help support one another unconditionally. The Idea is... If you are in need of help, you can reach out to one of your brothers or sisters, and in accordance with their oath/admission contract, they are required to assist you. (As long as the request is within reason... and within the bounds of their skill set.)
It is planned, that there would be some kind of point based system. If you cooperate and help another member... you gain points. If you are asking people for help... you will lose points. In an effort to avoid punishing the less fortunate, there will be plenty of opportunities to contribute. There will be ways of earning points through volunteer work for the site administrators and helping with the clubs activities. Important tasks such as public outreach seminars... and other forms of autistic community services... and fund raising.
Those who demonstrate excellence through allegiance and assisting their peers, will be rewarded by promotions. With the higher level positions being more akin to a secret society / fraternity. In these upper echelons of the club, trusted members will vote upon and discuss the direction of clubs growth. We will plan educational outreach for the public and free educational seminars for police. We will also set long term political goals and promote autistic people into positions of power. Because what good is a secret society full of geniuses, if you're not planning to take over the world... Right?
Here's an example. If your a lawyer on the spectrum... you might be asked to provide law services and advice for another member. In return, you get points that improve your social score within the club... you would also be able to use those points for all kinds of favors. You might decide to ask an artist to draw a portrait of your family, as a Christmas present. Maybe you will get injured and need help mowing your lawn... or painting your house.
The idea is. If you make a pledge to help anybody who asks you (with in reason). You will in turn be able to ask ANYBODY for help in their area of expertise. Through loyalty to the program and each other. We could create a much healthier environment where we all THRIVE. Gaining much needed relationships and social experiences along the way.
On that note... I will talk about it more once I actually build a better reputation here. I gave up on social media for awhile because it was kinda just a sad reminder of all the friends I used to have. People that no-longer care now that I have nothing to give them.
sry I wrote a book. I'm just really lonely right now. My brother just died... I have been on self lock-down for like 3 years. It's a long complicated story. I'm just here to find my people and help out where i can.

2022.01.18 19:11 voric41 Louisiana State refusing to refund overpaid taxes

So, for 2019 I lived & worked in Japan. I hired an inexperienced CPA (in international tax).
He told me I needed to pay Louisiana state taxes. Later I hired an experienced CPA who told me I didn’t. We amended it. And Louisiana is denying the refund based on not enough evidence I was in Japan.
I provided an apartment contract, working visa and tax slips.
They’re not responding to my emails. What can I do?
It’s about 5k so it’s a good chunk of money.

2022.01.18 19:11 Glittering_Tiger_289 How to break the chain of work.

Invest. Learn how to sell options. I feel like many people here are like me, in that we are not well compensated for what we do and we never will be. I'm a usaf veteran and I have a bachelors degree, yet I struggle. Many of you have similar situations which you feel will never change.
I didn't start actively investing until the start of the pandemic. Now I've made more money in 2 years than I normally make in 6. Please invest in yourselves by learning something easy like dividend investing or something like selling options. Don't try to get rich quick like the WSB people, lots of them lose everything by being risky. Start small by trying to earn an extra $100 a month and then build up from there. For many of us any extra money we weren't counting on is a blessing.
Loosen that chain. 👍. Having an income stream that is controlled by you instead of the whims of a narcissistic manager is soo important for your happiness in the long run.

2022.01.18 19:11 vjwiznalwogj This review kinda makes me laugh. Why did you need 4 in the first place? Costco has a limit & I love how people still get away with ordering way more than allowed/needed.

2022.01.18 19:11 Born_Watch5416 Wono Ecosystem

Hello Friends,
Wono ecosystem in my opinion is the next genaration Defi freelanching market.
The first P2P ecosystem that comes without taxes and in the future currency ( cryptos ).
Imagine an artist without knowledge of how crypto ecosystem works, and try to create an NFT collection.
With WONO you have to care only about your art and leave the rest to the specialists.
I will for sure reccomended to anyone to give a try.
WONO is going to be the best platform and the best vehicle for a random guy to make somthing huge.
