2021.11.27 18:16 Byzantine-Ziggurat Holodomor Memorial Day 2021
Today, November 27th, on International Holodomor Remembrance Day, I hope socialists the world over will stand in solidarity with the Ukrainian people and other Soviet people whose descendants perished in the famines. We reflect in solemn contemplation on the preventable mass death wrought down by the traitor Stalin and his henchmen and we vow to never again to let our movements befall such criminal politics and sociopathic indifference to suffering and death.
Note that I am not posting this to engage in a debate about the existence of the Holodomor; if you're a denialist, I am about as inclined to give you my energy as I am David Irving (that is, not at all). For those Redditors looking for an introduction to a more granular, scholarship-grounded debate on the details of mass death and culpability in the Holodomor, including the major works on the subject, you could start here. Similarly, if you are among those so inveterately attached to Stalin that you work to perpetuate a decrepit and anti-Marxist cult of personality, I bid that your senses will one day return, but until then, I will not engage with you in nonsense conversation nor enable your loathsome cheerleading.
Rather, this post is one small attempt to move away from the blinding, discrediting romanticism of the Soviet Union that seems to have eroded the critical thinking of some erstwhile comrades lately (at least on social media; thankfully I see far less of this rot in on-the-ground, in-person organizing). I leave us with the words of the Old Bolshevik hero, a political ancestor worthy of emulation who, even in 1939, had the courage to call Stalin out for what he was:
Sooner or later, the Soviet people will put you in the dock as a traitor to socialism and the revolution, the chief wrecker, the real enemy of the people, the organizer of famine and of judicial forgeries.submitted by Byzantine-Ziggurat to socialism [link] [comments]

2021.11.27 18:16 drhernan Recovering Live Photos
Not sure this is the best place to ask but thought I'd try. I upgraded from my old macbook (2015) to the newer model this week and was in the process of transferring photos through an external drive. I did not realize that, copying live photos straight from the Photos app didn't necessarily save them as such. Unfortunately, I realized this after I had deleted all of the live photos on the old macbook. Is there anyway to recover them? They're gone from the recently deleted, not on icloud anymore, and no time machine.

2021.11.27 18:16 No-Rip8236 Help Finding Similar Sparkling Wines/Champagnes
I've been on the lookout for sparkling wines that are similar to a few I've tried over the years. I think I've narrowed down the style, but I wanted to reach out to the community to see if I am on the right path. In general, I seem to like sparkling wines that are done in the traditional method, aged in oak (or at least some oak) for first fermentation, full malolactic fermentation, and at least 1-2 years on the lees.
Some notes that I like are toasty, brioche with just a hint of citrus. In terms of finish I like a very rounded finish. I think that's the full malolactic fermentation? I recently tried a Ferrari Brut sparkling, and absolutely loved the finish. It was slightly citrusy for me (probably aged in stainless steel), but the finish was amazing.
A few questions:

2021.11.27 18:16 mini_thins FX Aid XL Firmware Issues
I’ve wasted the better half of a day trying to install my firmware onto the FX Aid. I’ve run it through a mixer at various volumes, as well as my iPad and iPhone with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi turned off. I’ve run it from the PC at various levels, but the volume level either doesn’t trigger the firmware install, or it seems to immediately clip and go into error mode. There’s no happy in between. I’ve even run it through a mixer, then a VCA, then another mixer in order to have as much granular control over the volume as possible, to no avail. Quite infuriating.

2021.11.27 18:16 Chrissy2710 Monbebes, let me ask you guys something…HOW DO YOU SURVIVE A GROUP LIKE MONSTA X?
This post is gonna be cringe, you’ve been warned.
So, I was looking back on the 2020 MAMA Performances, and when I got to Monsta X’s I was just so…captivated by them?!! And it’s not like they put on a whole movie performance-they didn’t need to. Their stage presence and vocals enough was satisfying enough-not to mention THEY ARE FINE AS HELL! 😩😩 Not to bring up that their song Love Killa literally slaps after a year now?!
As you can tell-I’m just a casual K-pop fan so I didn’t know much about MX, but damn I need to fix that 👀
So I’m just wondering if this is how I felt, Monbebes are probably deceased at this point. I’m just checking in on the ones that are still holding on. How are you guys?
